Who we are
North Florida Land Improvements is family owned and operated, based in Alachua. When you call, you usually reach Eric, the person who walks your land, gives the estimate and runs the work. Most days it is a small family crew, and on bigger jobs we bring in trusted help so the work keeps moving.
We are a Christian family, and we treat every customer the way we would want to be treated on our own land.
We are a military family. One of our sons serves in the U.S. Army, and we offer discounts to military members and first responders.
Eric runs the company and the jobs. When you call, you reach the person who walks your land.

Common questions
The cost to clear an acre depends on what is growing on it, how dense it is, the terrain and how easy the site is to reach. A lightly brushed acre costs far less than a heavily wooded one with large trees, stumps or wet ground. We look at the property in person so your price reflects your actual land and not a guess. Call us for a free estimate on your acreage.
Forestry mulching is usually priced by the acre, and the rate depends on tree size, vegetation density and terrain. Thicker growth and larger trees take more machine time than light brush. We quote after seeing the property, so you get one clear number that covers the work. Contact us for a free forestry mulching estimate.
Traditional land clearing removes trees, brush and often stumps, which can leave debris to haul or pile. Forestry mulching grinds the vegetation in place and leaves a layer of mulch on the ground, with no burn piles and less soil disturbance. Mulching works well for brush, small trees and pasture. Full clearing is often better when you need bare ground for a foundation. We will recommend the right method after we see your land.
Gravel driveway cost depends on the length and width, how much base rock is needed, the type of stone, and the drainage. Culverts, ditch crossings and heavy grading add to the total. Long rural driveways cost more than short ones, but a proper base means it lasts. We give a free estimate after looking at your route and ground conditions.
House site preparation usually includes clearing trees and brush, removing stumps, grading and leveling, and building the house pad. It can also include a driveway and culvert so trucks can reach the site and water drains properly. Your builder and your county set some of the requirements, so we coordinate around them. We handle the entire site prep scope with one crew.
Bush hogging, also called brush hogging, is heavy-duty mowing with a tractor-mounted rotary cutter. It handles tall grass, weeds and brush that a regular mower cannot. You need it when a pasture, field or fence line has grown over, or to knock growth down before further clearing. Most owners schedule it once or twice a year to keep the land under control.
A building pad is the graded, level area of ground your foundation sits on. To prepare one, we clear the area, scrape and grade it, and set the elevation so water drains away from the structure. We use laser leveling to make sure the pad is accurate. That gives your builder a stable surface that is ready for a home, garage, barn or shop.
